End Veteran Debt’s Inaugural Summit - Righting Veteran Wrongs, Ending Veteran Suicide - 9-9-2025 NYC

Co-Hosts: SIPPS/Servicemember, Veteran, and Families Taskforce. (SMVFT) and End Veteran Debt (EVD)

Welcome to the enrollment/donation page for EVD’s Inaugural Summit on Veteran Issues, Debt and Suicide, to be held at the NYC Lincoln Center Campus of Fordham University on Tuesday, 9/9/2025 from 8:30am to 5pm.

Fordham University Veteran Center at Lincoln Center
140 W. 62nd St., Room G76
New York, NY, 10023

This will be a unique “Civ-Vet” approach, thinking globally and acting locally, to solve veteran and debt issues within a broader community program.

The summit will enable artists, independent journalists, healthcare activists, and whistleblowers, not usually identified with this difficult subject, to engage with the public charities, NGO’s, national veteran and civilian mental health professionals and spokespersons from the VA, in an aggressive, let’s get ‘er done, environment.

It’s not gonna be your dad’s conference.

Free enrollment is offered, although we include a donation button for $100 (and up) as a request to help defray our costs and promote our national Operation Debt-Day campaign to raise $50,000 which will abolish $1,000,000 in veteran debt nationally as well as provide local funds to help meet immediate veteran financial challenges.

As a (very) special way of acknowledging that generous gift, which is tax deductible, we will be sending these donors a special bag of Echo-Victor-Delta Cup-of-Joe delicious coffee.

Placing this in a historical context, this conference is the second fundraising and awareness-raising event to be held at Fordham. In 2017, former Navy Journalist Jerry Ashton and co-founder of the nationally acclaimed charity RIP Medical Debt, held an earlier mini-summit focused on abolishing veteran medical debt — a precursor to this conference and still an ongoing effort.

Since its inception in 2014, RIP (since renamed Undue Medical Debt) has abolished $22 billion-plus in medical debt for over 10,000,000 Americans. EVD’s goal is to mirror that impact within the veteran community, this time forgiving not just their medical bills, but all forms of debt that negatively impact a veteran and his/her family.

Please be a part of this. We can’t reduce a daily suicide rate twice that of the civilian population without you.

Space is limited and attendance is not guaranteed. Priority to be determined by our selection team
