The Forgotten by Jerry Reece
About The Artist

Jerry Reece
Jerry Reece, Barbados-born but brought to the U.S when he was 11, resides with his wife Avlyn in Oronoque Village, Stratford CT. Although he has not served, he is proud of the family connection to the military, who have worn Army and Marine uniforms.
Although self-taught, his artwork over the past several years has won awards and attention. Most significantly, Jerry’s art has been acquired by the African American museum in Stratford along with a commission this year to create a commemoration statue to be placed at the entrance. The Sorokin gallery definitely views him as an artist on the rise.

“The idea for this sculpture comes from my profound respect for veteran friends and family. As its title says, those returning home are often forgotten. It is important to remember that not every veteran is easily identifiable, nor is their dedication remembered,” Jerry says.
